KATIE ROARK

Multi media PHOTOGRAPHY PROJECT

Flora and sometimes Fauna

Disruption: Do not leave space on all sides.
For these there is always going to be some aspect that creates some kind of tension or chaos while entering the frame. Sometimes the disturbance causes the tension.

Proximity: Distance between subject and camera; get close and personal but do not get

too far away.

For these I felt it interesting to include some astrophotos because sometimes being far

away can make the photos with the subjects.

Vantage Point: Abandon normal shooting ranges and play with power dynamics.

For vantage point I wanted to use the different perspectives photos that people do not

normally see for really popular places and things.

Place: Trim away excess background.

I personally do not like seeing so much blue sky as backgrounds unless it is a minimal

photo and supposed to be like that. So hopefully these also show that.

The Decisive Moment

Picture

To me, the decisive moment is always a photo that nobody could

recreate of yours. Lucky for me I have an unhealthy obsession with

sand dunes, but even then nobody will be able to recreate this

picture exactly because of the lighting, my dog's prints and

the waves of untouched sand.
